Arranging the funeral
The arrangements are usually made at our funeral home and we will need to know the following details:
- Name, home address and former occupation of deceased
- Occupation and title of deceased
- Date of birth and age of deceased
- Time, date and place of death
- Burial or cremation? (If burial, would you like a woodland or ‘green’ burial?)
- Confirmation as to whether the deceased had a pacemaker or other implants fitted. (Pacemakers must be removed before cremation)
- Will the deceased be dressed in their own clothes?
- Would you like to spend time with the deceased in one of our Chapels of Rest?
- From where will the cortege leave? (For example, from the deceased’s residence or will we meet at the Church / Crematorium?)
- The number of vehicles required. (Limousines seat 6 each)
- Who will officiate at the service; the local Vicar/Priest; a Civil Celebrant or Humanist Celebrant
- Any particular music to be played at the service
- Is an Order of Service required?
- Is a donation service required?
- Is an obituary notice is to be placed in the local or national newspapers?
- Where will be the final resting place for the cremated remains?
- Are floral tributes required
- Is the coffin to be taken into Church or home the night before the funeral?
- Any other special requests; Horse Drawn Hearse, bagpiper; dove release etc.
