We have witnessed a major upsurge in demand from families for green burial (also known as ‘alternative’ or ‘natural’ burial). Green Burial means an eco-friendly burial in a wood or meadow in a way that protects the countryside and encourages wildlife.

Herongate Wood won the award for the ‘best new green burial site’ in the UK. It is a particularly beautiful site, adjacent to an ancient bluebell wood that is being extended by planting young trees across the area used for burials so that, in time, your loved ones will rest forever in a bluebell wood.
We also arrange for cremated remains (ashes) to be buried, in single or family plots, among the bluebells at Herongate Wood.
Plots may be pre-booked and incorporated into a Golden Charter Funeral Plan; you are guaranteed to have the green burial of your choice.
